Our School of Arts exists to equip artists and worshipers to learn to worship God with the skill of their hands and the integrity of their hearts.
The groups listed below are availalable during the school term (not over the school holidays) at The Junction, 14 Junction Road, Burleigh Heads.
HEARTS IN MOTION
There are two groups in our Hula dance - Performance Hula & Junior Hula.
- Performance Hula (Multigenerational) and meets on Mondays from 5-6pm. This group is lead by Lyndsay Eotvos and Bethany Rogers. A fee of $50 for the term helps cover licensing fees for songs used and pays for child minding for the group to make use of.
- Junior Hula (ages 4-11) meet Sunday at 10:45am (after the morning experience) it is $30 per family for the term.
Ukulele group classes
Group ukulele classes are lots of fun with Mike Eotvos teaching both the kids and the parents that come along how to play the ukulele. No prior experience is necessary. They meet on Monday afternoons from 5-6pm. It is $50 per family for the term.
Ouryouth band workshop
Our young artists are enthusiastic and want to serve God with their gifts, at Youth Band Workshops on a Monday evening from 6-7pm students have access to experienced musicians and singers who work with them to develop their gifts. These workshops are open to any highschool aged student who is interested in learning to sing and play in a band setting.
Currently on Monday afternoons we have private lessons available for vocals, ukulele, guitar, drums and piano.
We offer 30 minute lessons to individual or small groups from 7years old to adults at the cost of $30 per half hour. Contact us if you would like to know more.
COMING SOON - OURCHURCH 48 HOUR FILM FESTIVAL
Write, Shoot, Edit and Premiere an OurChurch Film
In November we launch our first annual OurChurch Film Festival. Over a weekend, participants will create an idea for a film, then storyboard, shoot and edit a film to be premiered at the OurChurch Film Festival screening.
We have a vision to build an OurChurch media team with this event as our launching pad.
The program starts on Friday evening, where participants will learn how to write, storyboard, shoot and edit a film. On Saturday, production teams will prepare and then shoot their films. Sunday, production teams will edit their films to then premiere at the OurChurch Film Festival screening on Sunday evening.
The program is free and open to anyone over 13 who has a keen interest in how to communicate God’s word through the media. No experience in filmmaking is necessary. We will also need actors for projects, so whether you want to be in behind the camera or in front, we want you to be part of this exciting program.
Festival dates: November 10-12th 2017.
