MAKE IT COUNT

11/7/20

SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 9:27-28 “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”

OBSERVATION: In this portion of scripture, the Holy Spirit is pointing out to us a few home truths to dispel doubt: (1) We only die once – This is informing us that there is no reincarnation, we have only this life before Jesus comes again. (2) We face judgement – Everyone will face judgement, no one is getting away with anything. Jesus is responsible for the justice, so we don’t have to be. (3) Jesus was sacrificed – Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for everyone’s sins. (4) He will return – Next time He returns will not be to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him or are genuinely in relationship with Him

APPLICATION: I need to be more active in the Father’s mission as I only have my time in this life to share the gospel. When Jesus returns, I will have to give an account as to what I have done; what He has asked me to do. My life needs to be in a state of preparedness always – I need to be loving God and loving others, serving them and sharing the message of Jesus to everyone in my world.

PRAYER: Father, help me to make the most of every opportunity that I have to advance your kingdom. Amen
