THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL

31/8/20

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 70:3-4 “But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, ‘The Lord is great!’”

OBSERVATION: David is reminding himself of where his help comes from. No matter what is going on around him circumstance wise, with enemies trying to take his life. David keeps his eyes firmly on his God; he is ever seeking his God for answers and how to respond in each circumstance. Because of this, he is always able to rejoice and be glad saying ‘the Lord is great’.

APPLICATION: Do I have this level of confidence when my enemy is attacking me, or trying to discourage me? Is my response to always fall to my knees in prayer, rejoicing and being glad and seeking God? Do I see these challenges as a gift and opportunity to declare that the Lord is great? As I reflect on these questions, I am reminded just how much I need to seek God in all circumstances as my first response.

PRAYER: Father, I still have a way to go in this area as I still am discouraged by enemies. Help me to remember to seek you first and always. Amen.
