Devotions

Here is a great devotion from Ron Garvey which he has allowed me to share on his behalf. Notice how Ron is using the SOAP method to make sure the revelation of scripture he is receiving is being applied to his life. Share with the rest of us what our heavenly Father is saying & doing in you!

Scripture

He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ” (Luke 13:6-9 NKJV)

Observation

As I read this I am reminded that God will always give us one more chance, no matter how fruitful our lives. Sometimes that unfruitful ness is because we have just been neglected and all it takes is for someone to come and work with us. Prepare the soil of our hearts and give us the opportunity to bear fruit.

Application

I think that too often we expect others to come good all by themselves but in reality it is a requirement by God that we go and spend time with the ones that struggle and allow God to give them another opportunity to be the person that The Lord has called them to be.

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for neglecting to do what you have asked me to in going to help and work with the people that I have considered too hard. Give me opportunity and courage to step out and make a way for them so that they may bear much fruit for you.
