DEAD TO LAW, ALIVE TO GOD

24/5/20

SCRIPTURE: Romans 6:14 “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”

OBSERVATION: Before we received Christ, sin and death reigned in our lives- being driven and accentuated by the law. By choosing to receive Christ as our Lord and saviour, we are choosing to identify with His death, burial and resurrection. By making this choice, our death in Christ frees us from being controlled by the power of the law. Then from death, we pass through to experiencing the resurrection power of the spirit; which fills us with grace and truth through God’s righteousness and in this, sin no longer has power over us.

APPLICATION: I must stay filled with the spirit of the living God so that sin can no longer take a hold of me. My master is no longer sin, but the righteousness of Christ; this keeps me set free from sin and death through the law. I am a child of grace and truth.

PRAYER: Father, help me to always be led by your spirit via the new covenant of grace and truth. Amen.
